Love the little audio exercise.

3rd go...100%...we can do it.

Trick is to learn where every letter is from mid C to before next C going right i.e D in middle of 3 Whites, so E is obviously next, F beggins the 4 Whites and B is at the end and G & A in the middle of 4 Whites in that order - I know I'm speaking the obvious but my first go I gave up before half way and 2nd go got right to the end with approx 2 mistakes. I'm looking for 100% next go...I'll be so lucky.

Sir I have a 54 key keyboard and there are 5 Cs, 5 Ds, 5 Es, 5Fs, 4 Gs, 4 As, and 4Bs.... So how do I know whether I played the correct key or not if only letters are said?

Nice exercise!!!

ignore that.

My dad wrote the letters on the keys not too long after we bought it which was quite a few years ago. So I don’t know if I could get them off. Is it ok if the letters are there?

My problem is that my dad wrote the letters on the keys so if I look at the keyboard (which is pretty tempting) I can change the note easily. It’s hard for me to focus on something else while listening and trying to get the right notes. Also I accidentally started putting my thumb on D and pinky on A so I could get to B easier but is that a bad thing or is it okay to do it that was if it’s easier for me?

If you make a mistake but quickly correct it before he says the next letter, does it count?

sounds silly but i can't access your audio.  converter pro wants to download multiple add on's is this right?

I´m using the Forrest Gump method.. Life´s like a piano , you never know which note you´re gonna hit.But it works and i´m getting better at something already.

Well I made this one with my Right Hand now for the LEFT.  That's without looking at the hands.

This exercise is amazing! It's really helping me not have to think about the notes based off C! So excited to be able to beat this!

Like Gemma below, it was overwhelming at first, with me not being able to get past the 2 minute mark, but after about an hour or so of practice (spread over 3 days) I can now do this (and the other white keys Jacques' exercise) nearly every time without getting tripped up. :)

I did this exercise with one hand until I could do it without messing up. Then I did it with the other hand; then I did it with both hands.  Really fun exercise!  Looking forward to the next one.

This is very useful to learn the keys. Tks a lot

again for this exercise is finger placement important?

finger placement during this exercise?  use all five?  don't look at keys?  thanks

Hi just listened to your white key audio..I taped my keys to learn better. Is thAt o.k.thanks cindi

Anybody there?

Meant to add just mastered white keys but took 2 days and kept on forgetting where B was so (sorry Jacques) I placed a marker on the following C and that did the trick.  Ready to move on to Day 2☺️

Day two and ready to move on

Hi Jacque, Everyone.  How many times do you suggest we get it 100% before we move on.  I've reached 100% but not everytime, is that good enough to move on?

Hi Jacque, I am still working on mastering the white keys.  About  2/3 of the way through I can't keep up so I keep going over only the part where I get behind but I keep doing it until I get tired and really start messing up. I am slowly but surely hoping to get past this hurdle soon. Thanks!

i think the purpose of this exercise is to adapt our fingures to push the keys the way we like to the corresponding letter which later becomes a note from the music sheet

how do i know im doing it correct or not?

Okay  - how do I get to this part?

[iano lesson #1

Hey Jacques, should we be able to do this with our right thumb on C and pointer on D and so on or just be able to recognize the keys so far?

Oh nevermind it's in the workbook, you use your thumb on C, etc. :)

I've memorised the white keys in one day. Really pleased!

Fantastic!! I have never been able to immediately recognize a note just from the landmarks on the keyboard before. I have always had to start from C and count my way up. 7 times through your audio excersize and even my dyslexia couldn't trip me up when you got faster! I'm going to take a break and do it again in an hour or so. When I can do it in my sleep I'll move on.Thank You!Mary

I start ok,but when you speed up,I can’t keep upKeep practising,

I did this perfectly on the 1st try

if i could aces this it might be different

Yes! Finally it took me sometime but I made it, I call it a day

All done on my first go

My first day in... I've NEVER played the piano before and after 3 runs through this audio exercise, I can get throught easily an naturally ... with my THUMB!! :) I'm so excited!! I'll keep practicing this and also with the flashcards to ensure mastery before moving on to day 2.

I get to 2:00 and then I loose it. How many days normally expected to master this? Surely not one day??

Good concept and great to have someone else randomly selecting what to play - but how do we know if we're playing the correct note ? Would be better if YOU played the note, say a second after calling it out (assume we all stick to the octave starting at Middle C) to HEAR if we're right . Something to consider perhaps ?
