"Snare Sample Quintet"

This piece features an unorthodox use of the string quartet. It begins with a drum beat crafted from a single snare recording (hence the title) and the strings mimic the beat at first. The particular focus of this composition is to explore the contrast between these two groups of sounds - percussion and string - and how they can interact with each others' domains in cooperative and separate manners.
